Story behind Aradia

The Aradia chant is a prayer to Aradia, daughter of Diana, Goddess of the Moon and hunt. I wanted to paint a picture of a beautiful witch on a moonlit night, calling the Goddess to her, to reveal the mystery, to then be joined by her coven ending in the raising of energy acting as a transitional piece between Moon She Rises and Drawing Down the Moon. The original piece is longer than the one on the recording - the second half of the chant has a 5/4 rhythm sung against a 4/4 counter point, that after listening clearly became one of those pieces that would be skipped over in the listening. I think it would be wonderfully dramatic in ritual. I translated it into Latin after confering with my classically trained brother, just to give it a feeling of something old, that might have happend some moonlit night 3000 years ago.
